Review by: Kathryn

The Rule Book is the story of Lainey and Brogan, its funny, sweet, heartfelt and completely captivating.  I found this book to be a really enjoyable light-hearted romantic comedy that was thoroughly entertaining.

This book is not your normal billionaire boss read, it's a heartfelt fun read. Brogan is Lainey's boss he's young, handsome, successful and completely scared to trust.  Brogan has an employee manual with hundred's of rules, with many bordering on the ridiculous.  He needs the rules to maintain order and control.

Lainey is the complete opposite to her boss she is funny, cute, confident, sarcastic and clumsy.  She is constantly putting her foot in it when she doesn't think before she speaks.

Lainey has difficulty finding her feet, making friends and fitting in at her new workplace, which i find totally relate-able.
The book is only told from Lainey's point of view.  I would have loved if some of the book/scenes/byplay between the pair were told from Brogan's point of view.

The additional characters added to the story, particularly Lainey's mum and her roommate.

The sexual innuendo and slow burn between the pair, mixed with a great deal of humor made this one a really quick read that I personally didn't want to put down.  This book is a slow burn and although the characters are enthralling the pace is quite slow, and it doesn't really have any explicit love scenes, so may not be to everyone taste.

I look forward to reading more from Jennifer Blackwood in the future.

4.5 Stars
