OMG!
Once again Maya Banks proves why she is the queen of romance. Mastered is the beginning of a new series that will prove there isn't anything better than a man who figures out that it's okay to take something for himself and enjoy it. And for a woman to finally decide that she just may be pretty enough to keep the big bad boy happy.
Evangeline is so soft and quiet, almost shy. She's also got a strong sense of responsibility where her family is concerned. I love that about her. She just goes about her life doing what she needs too to take care of her family. Wasn't so happy with her low opinion about herself, it made her a little weak to me. And hopefully as the story continues we'll finally figure out why she feels like she does.
Maya Banks always has very strong, very masculine, very alpha men in her stories and she didn't disappoint with Drake Donovan. He's everything every alpha male is. But...is his business dealings even legal? Don't know if I agree with someone who walks on the criminal side of things. Except somehow it works in this book. The fact that Drake is a touch shady makes him even more yummy!
He exercises control in all aspects of his life. But when a small, sweet, innocent blond haired, blue eyed angel steps into his club and into his life; Drake finds himself giving in to her more than he has to any woman. And liking it too.
There's a whole cast of new characters...men. Each one more yummy than the one before. And each one is just as alpha. And just as mysterious.
This new series is going to be full of breath stealing, hot flash inducing heat and I can't wait to read more!
