About FORGETTING AUGUST

She can forgive, but can she forget? Some days, Everly still thinks she sees him. In the food court at the mall, or in a car speeding past as the light changes. It only lasts a second, but when it happens, she slips back to a time when she was ruled-and nearly ruined-by August Kincaid. And it doesn't matter that she's moved on, that she's about to marry another man. In those moments the only thing she can do to regain control is take a deep breath and remind herself that August can't hurt her-because he's in a coma. Except that he's not anymore. August is awake. With no memories, he sets out to solve the mystery of his lost life. He unearths a photograph of a beautiful redhead named Everly and knows instinctively that she's the key. But when he finds her, the August she describes is more monster than man. Tortured by the thought of having hurt her, August wants only to become the man Everly deserves. As the new August emerges, Everly glimpses the person she first fell in love with. But can she trust that this August is real? When the final secret of their shared past is revealed, one of them will make a choice that changes their future forever . . .

Review by: Erin

This story will have you hooked in so fast it will make your eyes cross. What a great storyline. I was honestly on the edge of my seat waiting to see what would happen. I love that this story was full of guessing and not predictable at all. I felt so bad for each of these characters, all for different reasons. I loved the idea of starting over with a clean slate. The problem is that only one gets a clean slate. I cannot possibly imagine how difficult things were for Everly and August both. An amazing story and I can’t wait to see what happens next!

Review by: Kim

Forgetting August is a well written story of trying to start over once the world crashes around your feet.
A second chance story...or is it?
Having never read this author before, I found her style of writing very detail oriented. I never once wondered what a character was thinking.

What would you do if your worst nightmare was suddenly front and center in your world?
Everly Adams has been free for two years. Free from the shadows and ghosts that used to haunt her. She has a life that she's happy in and a man that she loves.
Until the phone rings.
August Kinkaid hasn't lived for two years. He's been sleeping the sleep of the almost dead. And when he does wake he can't remember who he is or the man he he used to be.
Everly is the key to his memories. Problem is..she doesn't want anything to do with him.

Forgetting August is a complex read with pages full of angst and problems. But sometimes the "he did that to me" becomes repetitive.
The heat factor is just barely warm so I really missed the feelings of coming together for these characters.
Even though this book deals with emotional abuse I felt like Everly wasn't the strong heroine that I like to read.
I am a very strong, vocal person so it's hard for me to understand Everly and the amount of control that she just allowed August to have over her life.

I loved Brick, the world would be a great place if everyone had someone like him in their lives. Sarah was the best kind of best friend too.

Oh, and this is also a cliff-hanger.
