This is one of those books where you think you know what is going to happen.. and you are wrong!

All of the characters in this story are just gorgeous. You have Alex who is a mum to Cassy.  She adopted her 6 years ago when Cassy was a new baby. They have created their own unique family with Alex's "sisters" that she grew up in a group home with.

Now Alex is facing the threat of losing her little girl to a man that is claiming to be Cassy's biological father.

Hayden got the shock of his life when a woman from a 1 night stand 6 years ago turns up claiming he fathered her child and she gave it up for adoption.  Come hell or high water Hayden is going to track this child down and if the paternity test proves he is the father he plans to take his child home with him.

I really wanted to dislike Hayden for what he was about to do to Alex and Cassy but I just couldn't.  He tried to come across as hard and uncaring but he wasn't.  He is a good man who wants to do right by his child and is completely unprepared for things to not go his way.
When Alex and Hayden are together the chemistry is obvious and the heat is on a slow simmer.

At the start they are both on completely different pages and have different ideas on what is going to happen when the paternity test comes in. As the story progresses you can see the shift in their relationship and how both their attitudes change towards each other. Cassy is the driving force behind every decision they make and they are slowly becoming a family unit and not realising it. It's actually quite funny to watch it happen when the two people it is happening to are completely unaware of it.

This story has funny moments and some highly tense situations. The author has written a story that is easy to read, easy to follow and easy to get caught up in. I thoroughly enjoyed the book and am looking forward to book 2 in this series!

5 Stars
