Synopsis

School. Tests. Scholarships. Goals. Senior class overachiever Geoff Miller thought he had it all figured out. All he needed to do was make it through the next six months, graduate, and get on with his life. College at the University of Virginia beckoned him—and he just wanted to put the last horrible four years at Heritage High School in the “done” folder. But Geoff hadn’t counted on one important thing: beautiful, magnetic Laine Phillips. For years, Geoff crushed on Laine from afar. He didn’t think she even knew he existed. In fact, his obsession seemed to him like a distraction from an unhappy life in a snobby, Greater Cincinnati suburb. Until the day everything changed. And when it did, this unlikely Prince Charming got a chance to make his move on Laine.

Review by: Tracy

I wanted to read Prince Charming simply based on the title, because what girl doesn’t want to read a fairy tale? Prince Charming was a modern day Cinderella story but told from the POV of a male character. Geoff was in his senior year of high school. Second smartest kid in his class, and completely friendless. Geoff is a snobby rich kid who thinks he is better and more superior then everyone else. Except one person. Laine Phillips. The one girl he was too afraid to talk to.
The two were thrown together so late in his high school career he begins to rethink the path that he paved for himself and his future.

I thought this young adult book was too cute! Not only do we get to read a modern day Cinderella story we get to read it as a boy being Cinderella. It was cute, witty, charming and romantic. All great things for a YA story. The only negative I could say about it, it wasn’t long enough. I think a lot more could have been done with the story. Although I am sure many think it was great just the way it was.
