This was an incredible story. It had all the “feels”. I cried like a little baby in some parts. Jamie and Cole are wonderful together. They have both survived somewhat similar circumstances. Cole is further along in his healing than Jamie, but they help heal each other. Cole was in the service, but now helps others with their therapy. Jamie was an aid worker who got taken and held hostage while helping in Darfur. Jamie had had extensive therapy, both emotional and physical. Becca, her physical therapist, is Cole’s sister and she suggest Jamie go work with him to further her progress. The chemistry is immediate. They connection is made as soon as Jamie steps out of the car at Cole’s house. They have a few ups and downs. There is the requisite “hoochie mama” that keeps the drama stirred up. But the overall tone of the story is the relationship between Cole and Jamie and how they are helping each other to live and love again. Cole’s family is very tight knit and supportive of each other. They all take to Jamie immediately. A very beautiful story and an amazing start to a new series! With all the family going on in this story, I can see quite a few books in the making!

This is a beautiful story about falling in love at first sight.

Jamie feels like she is never going progress in her life. She suffered a traumatic event & is having both physical & psychological
therapy to try & overcome her barriers & move on with her life.
Cole has also overcome his PTSD to a point by starting a recovery clinic for soldiers returning from service. He enjoys helping others
with their recovery. When he agrees to take on Jamie , he has no idea just how much of an impact it would have  on his life.

From the moment they meet, Jamie & Cole feel the attraction & they both freely admit falling in love on sight.
But, Jamie has trust issues and after she walks in on an incident she needs to decide if she trusts Cole enough to believe his
version of events or if it is better to just move on from him.

This is my first book by Kaithlin Shepherd and it is a beautiful introduction. Her characters are just gorgeous & her writing
makes you believe there is such a thing as a happy ending.
I loved the easy communication between the Calloway brothers in this story & how family always comes first. Coles mother
Kathy is beautiful & the love she has for her boys & her daughter is all consuming.

This is one of those books that you read & you can literally feel the love pouring off the pages. IT makes you feel good while your reading & you
find yourself being carried away with the emotions of the story.

I absolutely enjoyed this book & I look forward to reading more by this author.

She watched him move across the room as he got their drinks and was mesmerized by how the man just seemed to relax into a steady rhythm. When he caught her staring at him, he gave her a famous Callaway smile before turning the tables on her. “You know, I don’t think I have ever met someone who turns me inside out just by looking at me. You, Jamie Caldwell, are sure making me think things I haven’t thought about in a long time.”

He walked toward her with their drinks in his hands. With the moonlight shining through the back door, she saw a glimmer of intensity in his eyes. It should have scared her or made her feel unbalanced, but her breath quickened in response to the way he looked at her. She took a minute to admire his body. His shoulders and chest were broad. And there was just something about the way he held himself that she found incredibly sexy.

“You keep staring at me like that and we are going to have a problem.” He’d moved closer to her. He stood inches away from her when she looked up at him and their eyes locked, sending electricity through her entire body.

“Well then, maybe we should find a solution to that problem.” She watched Cole set the glasses of whiskey on the corner table. He wrapped one hand around her waist and the other around her neck, then pulled her in close to him, near enough that she could feel his heartbeat and the heat rolling off his body.

“Are you sure about this?” She knew he needed to hear her say the words, not just for himself but for her, as well. This was a milestone moment for her, and she cherished the knowledge she’d found someone she trusted enough to let this part of her past go with him.

Jamie wrapped her arms around his neck and pulled his head to her. Their lips were almost touching, and when she whispered the words, “I have never been more sure of anything in my life,” he took what he desperately needed.

Kaithlin Shepherd was born and raised in Canada where she learned to figure skate and crafted a love affair with coffee. Growing up in a household filled by strong-headed women, she learned early on that life is what you make it. You’ve probably never met a bigger country music fan and in the words of Brooks and Dunn, she’s a die-hard ‘George Strait junkie.’ Constructing a world away from her real life, Kaithlin loves the feeling of creating a universe where her fans can forget about everything in their life. She loves writing about hot alphas and doesn’t shy away from turning up the heat with scorching hot sex scenes.
