Ride Steady by Kristen Ashley ~ FMR REVIEW

TITLE: Ride Steady (Chaos, #3)
AUTHOR: Kristen Ashley
RELEASE DATE: June 30, 2015

ABOUT Ride Steady:

The ride of her life . . .
Once upon a time, Carissa Teodoro believed in happy endings. Money, marriage, motherhood: everything came easy---until she woke up to the ugly truth about her Prince Charming. Now a struggling, single mom and stranded by a flat tire, Carissa's pondering her mistakes when a vaguely familiar knight rides to her rescue on a ton of horsepower.

Climb on and hold tight . . .
In high school, Carson Steele was a bad boy loner who put Carissa on a pedestal where she stayed far beyond his reach. Today, he's the hard-bodied biker known only as Joker, and from the way Carissa's acting, it's clear she's falling fast. While catching her is irresistible, knowing what to do with her is a different story. A good girl like Carissa is the least likely fit with the Chaos Motorcycle Club. Too bad holding back is so damned hard. Now, as Joker's secrets are revealed and an outside threat endangers the club, Joker must decide whether to ride steady with Carissa---or ride away forever . . .

REVIEW BY: DONNA

I have to say Kristen Ashley has once again written an amazing story!!!!!! I am most definitely rating this book a 5 out 5!!!!! This book can absolutely be read as standalone but is so much better when you know most of the characters from the other books.

Carrie and Joker run into each other years after knowing each other in school.  They are both very different people now.  Each with baggage to deal with from the past and present.   Carrie has an adorable baby and a nasty ex husband and Joker is a sexy member of "The Chaos Motorcycle Club".  The goal seems to be to stick together and they might get to the other side of the rainbow.

I also have to say I loved, "Angie" the lawyer to Chaos. Now she can kick booty.

Oh! Don't forget the tissues when sitting down to read the newest addition to Chaos.

REVIEW BY: AMY E.

A strong but close to breaking woman finds her happy ending in the form of a long haired, Harley riding, badass biker. Who brought in the whole of Chaos MC to give his girl the family and friends she wanted and needed in her life. The give and take between Carissa and Joker was amazing.  No games just honesty and love.  Attention grabbing characters, emotional storyline, and chalked full of badasses this book had it all.

REVIEW BY: LEEANN

Carson had a crap upbringing. He had no mother and an abusive father. He was beaten daily. His secret high school crush and a couple of great neighbors is what got him through his hell.
Once he was old enough he got out and made a life for himself. He joined an MC and Joker was born.

Carissa had a different life. She had a father who loved her but together they suffered their own tragedies. She went on to marry her high school boyfriend and have a child with him.

Both Carissa and Carson learn that life doesn't always work out the way you think it will and when they are thrown back together with the help of fate, they both realize  things will never be the same.

This had the potential to be a 5 star book. The foundation of the story was there but there were some issues. When ever the story was told from Carissa's POV the story was told in the 1st person and whenever it was from Carson's it was in the 3rd person. This stopped the story from flowing through and was sometimes hard to follow. I think the other issue is that the story dragged on too long. There were parts that were overwritten and others that didn't have enough detail.

The development of the characters was good and I could see where the story was supposed to go but it just didn't get there for me.

MEET Kristen Ashley:

I was born a middle class white child in Gary, Indiana, USA. One of the last of a dying breed. I nearly killed my mother and myself making it into the world, seeing as I had the umbilical cord wrapped around my neck (already attempting to accessorize and I hadn’t taken my first breath!). Mom says they took me away, put her back in her room, she looked out the window, and Gary was on fire (Dr. King had been assassinated four days before). She remembered thinking it was the end of the world. Quite the dramatic beginning.
Nothing’s changed.

All I’ve ever wanted to do was write (well, and be the Queen of the World, but you gotta start small) and I’ve published a gazillion books and counting (and a gazillion is a lot! shoo!).You can learn about my titles that have been released or that are soon to be released in the Titles section of the website.

Even though I jump genres, there is always a theme to my books…humor (hopefully), engaging characters (again, hopefully) and romance (definitely).

My loves are movies, music, food and fashion and I partake of all of them as often as I can (the middle two more than the others, the former, which takes time I don’t often have and the latter, which takes money I rarely have). In fact, I love food so much, I like to share my good fortune so I put my recipes on offer for you on this page (see top menu and don’t miss them, they’re awesome!).

I grew up in Brownsburg, Indiana and have lived in Denver, Colorado and the West Country of England. Thus I’m blessed to have friends and family around the globe. My family was (is) loopy (to say the least) but loopy is good when you want to write and growing up it was large and multi-generational. We all lived together on a very small farm in a small farm town in the heartland. I grew up with Glenn Miller, The Everly Brothers, REO Speedwagon and Whitesnake (and the wardrobes that matched). Needless to say, growing up in a house full of music, clothes and love was a good way to grow up.

And as I keep growing up, it keeps getting better.
So here I am, thank goodness.
