No Quarter by Kelli Jean ~ FMR REVIEW

TITLE: No Quarter (NOLA’s Own, #2)
AUTHOR: Kelli Jean

RELEASE DATE: June 10, 2015

ABOUT No Quarter:

Kenna
“All of his pain, I was always the cause of it. Even if indirectly. All roads led to Kenna, I supposed.”
My Madman brings me to life—but it comes at a price. I’m the one who faces his demons when they decide to crawl out of the hell inside his head.
One thing is certain: it’s not my forgiveness that is needed. Phil must forgive himself before there’s chance for us. I’m afraid he won’t be able to. What will I have then?
Without him, I’m just existing.

Phil
"Looking back now, I think I wanted to scare her a little, wanted to see if she'd run screaming from the demons in me."
My Baby Girl owns me. Always has, always will. My heart beats for her, my soul is only half without her. Then The Madman surfaces and rips into her. My demons are threatening to rip us apart.
I'm going to lose her, lose my only dream, the only future I'll accept.
How do I fix this? She speaks of forgiveness. Deep down, I'm afraid I'm too weak to find it.
Kenna is strong enough to walk away from us. She’s giving me No Quarter.

***WARNING. Contains ADULT content: sex, coarse/base language and crassness, drug references and marijuana abuse, and descriptions of possible trigger situations. Not intended for those under 18 years of age. It is BOOK 2 of a 3 part story. There IS a mild cliffhanger.***

REVIEW BY: TERA

Wow...Trying to find the right words for this review has been difficult ....these NOLA's OWN books aren't quite like anything I've read ...They are unique
        captivating
        funny
        tearful ...and truly beautiful.
These characters will bring you through a whole range of emotions and leave you wanting more ..

"You think I'm a genius?"
"Of course I do. You have the power to make my soul sing."

We get to know some of the other characters better in this second book and dig deeper into Phil and Kenna...who have almost an "unworldly" connection

"Normal is a vague and misguided term at best, Sheri. There's something in everyone that can be considered not normal."

This book starts right where the first left off ....it transports you into their world and I think I want to live there ..Some parts are extremely hard to read and sad ....But I was also laughing out loud in other parts of the book ....And reading more about Phil and Baby Girl just makes me smile ..a beautiful balance ...

and I LOVE IT!  I NEED MORE NOW! Recommended Read!!

ABOUT Kelli Jean:

Born and raised in Miami, Kelli Jean traded the tropical heat for the arctic. Now she deals with twenty-four hour daylight in the summer, zero sunlight in the winter, and believes the Northern Lights make up for the mind-boggling amount of ice and snow she has to put up with for seven months out of the year. She’s surrounded by mountains and ocean and sheep, and claims her bizarre sense of humor is what keeps her sane.
The insane don’t know they’re insane.
Kelli uses her imagination to create worlds she can escape to from the mundane tasks of everyday life, such as washing the damn dishes and vacuuming up Legos off the floor—and don’t get her started on the mad amount of cat hair on the end of the couch. She gave up on that a long time ago. When the household goes to sleep at night, she writes down everything that happened in her head while doing such tedious chores. But she enjoys living in her own head, so that’s pretty cool.

Technology terrifies her. She can barely turn on a computer, and was completely shocked when she’d actually written a book on one. To this day, she has no explanation for this baffling mystery. It took her three years to realize she can take screen shots of messages and pictures of bearded, tattooed men with her phone. Now that she’s mastered this task, her phone is slowly dying, and she’s nervous that she’s going to have to buy a new one and it will take her another three years to learn how to use it.
