Synopsis
Sergeant Jeremiah Abbner died in the line of duty serving his country. Or at least that's what the newspapers said...
The US Government handed him a new identity, and strict orders not to make contact with anyone from his past. As far as society was concerned Sergeant Jeremiah Abbner was dead, and buried six feet under. Not having contact with his ex-wife would be easy. She was a manipulator and a cheater. Not seeing his daughter on the other hand would devastate him... Beau Morgan, aka Jeremiah, settles down in a town far away from everything he's ever known. Coping with the trauma he's experienced and discovering a new life Beau finds himself the most aggressive he's ever been. His blood simmers with rage while his fists are thirsty to let it all out . In the middle of his own living hell he never expected to run into an old familiar face. And to top it off, one who recognized him as Jeremiah. He's vowed never to love again, but as circumstances land him in the arms of a woman, Jenni Lee, this time he may not have a choice, as she rarely takes no for an answer. Can Beau Morgan control his temper long enough to settle into his new life? Or will resentment taint him forever?

This is a story about a young man named Jeremiah who was honorable and served to protect his country. When things went wrong, those in charge turned their backs on him and stripped him of his identity, his family, his friends, his life.
He has been forced to start all over again as Beau.
Beau has lost none of his honorable traits though. He is not just a good looking sexy man, he is also a good guy.
Jenni has his a tough life. There had only ever been one person she could rely on,  her Aunt Danielle.then through less than ideal circumstances,  Jenni meets Beau.
He is everything she knows a man should be. She falls for him hard and fast. But their relationship didn't get off to the healthiest of starts and when tragedy strikes not once but twice, Jenni and Beau need to decided If they want to fight to find their way back together or move on without each other.

HJ Bellus has the ability to draw out your emotions when you read one of her books. By the time you get to the end, you will have laughed, cried and everything in between. Her Soldier is no different. This author writes complex characters and shows all their colours beautifully. There are so many sides to Beau and Jenni and you get to see them all, the good, the sweet the kind, the angry and the dark.  The story is written in a way you see the rawness in the emotions of the characters.
This is a novel size book and it took me 2 days to read it, not because I wasn't interested or didn't want to, I took me 2 days because i had to slow my reading down so I didn't miss anything. I was worried if I read it to quickly I would miss even the slighted detail which I didn't want to do.

If your looking for a good story to sin your teeth I to that makes you feel, then check out Her Soldier, you won't be disappointed! !

“But I’d love to know the real you any day. I can handle it”…LOVE THIS!!!! Oh My Goodness this was the best book in the series so far. H.J. has brought tortured souls and made them beautiful. She took the darkness that they thought consumed them and gave them light. I was in love with the men in this series but Beau just about broke my heart. The women in this series are strong and Jenni was so fierce, she just amazed me.
Beau was brilliant and struggled through so much. He was a man lost and struggling through the loss of so much. He needed to belong and to protect those around him. He had no idea that while working one night, the shrill cry of a woman he had never met would change his life completely. Not wanting to give up on life, he needed to make the choice to free himself from the demons of his past and let the most unlikely person in to help him heal.
Jenni…nutty and crazy as ever until one night changed it all for her. Broken and defeated she needed to trust blindly someone who she couldn’t even see to help pick her up. I loved watching Jenni’s character develop and grow throughout the book. She was courageous and strong and so determined to change things for the better. She decided to trust and give herself over to a complete stranger for the guidance she needed to break free and finally live again.
I completely enjoyed this book. It was by far the best in the series and H.J. just keeps getting better and better. I was so happy that more story was given to Beau & Jenni. I was also happy that the former story lines were developed a little more in this book as well. I look forward to any work by H. J. and can’t wait for more!! 4 star read for sure here!!

I have absolutely adored the "That Girl" series from HJ Bellus and I have to say, that book 1 STILL remains my favourite. It holds such a dear and special place in my heart and was without a doubt one of my top reads of 2014!
This is book 3 in the "That Girl" series, where we visit Jeremiah and his story. We got to meet him in book 1, but every story has its twist and now appearing as a character called Beau Morgan, you will be taken on one helluva journey filled with deep devastating emotions and writing full of heart.
Beau and Jenni cross paths in a traumatic way, he rescues, protects and heals her in a strong courageous way that a man should treat a woman, however his demons keep him from letting her in. Jenni holds an innocence and also a naivety to her character that enables her to place her trust in this broken stranger. Both characters hold so many secrets from their pasts that really affected my emotions. I found some aspects of their relationship a little alarming however it really is a beautiful story. HJ Bellus writes with a lot of passion, angst and heart.

Ok, where do I start…I wasn’t over the moon about this story, which could be because I did not read the other books in the series. I just felt thrown into the storyline, there was no real character development. Beau saved Jenni’s life and Jenni just might save his. The story had it all…mystery, twists, turns and heartache along the way.

“You need to decide what you want in life, Jenni, and what’s really worth fighting for. Set your mind on it and don’t give in. And don’t worry who the fuck likes it or not.”

I liked the story, so my suggestion to the future reader would be to read the first 2 in the series first so you could get a better appreciation for this one.
