 Release Date: February 3, 2015

Synopsis

New York Times bestselling author Claudia Connor follows up her heartfelt debut, Worth the Fall, with a novel about Matt’s brother, Stephen—and when a McKinney brother falls in love, powerful emotion and overwhelming desire are never far behind.

Two hearts locked away . . . Hannah Walker spends her days coaching children through injury and trauma, one therapeutic horseback ride at a time. She knows all too well how violence can change a child and leave scars that never heal. It’s easy for her to relate to the kids; what isn’t easy is the thought of facing her own harrowing past.

Millionaire playboy Stephen McKinney could use a little coaching himself. Five years ago he encountered his most horrible nightmare—and the nightmare won. No matter what he achieves, nothing can make up for that awful night . . . or so he believes.

Both desperate for a second chance . . . Stephen is used to getting what he wants. And he wants Hannah. So when she turns him down, he’s intrigued. What he doesn’t know is that her secrets will lead him to a place he never wanted to go again . . . to a side of himself he’s tried to forget . . . a side that would scare Hannah away from ever loving him. Now his only chance to win her trust is to bare his soul, risking everything he tried so hard to protect.

Review by Leeann

This is a story you can reply sink your teeth into!

Hannah has literally suffered through a hell no one should ever know. At the young age of 14 she was held against her will and tortured by someone she thought was her friend. She was left with horrific life changing injuries and has kept to herself ever since. She also has 4 older brothers that protect her to the point of suffocation! They mean well but sometimes it is just too much for Hannah to cope with. She wants to learn to live a normal life.

Stephen was engaged to be married but his fiance was raped, tortured and murded at the hands of 2 teenagers. He has thought of nothing but revenge ever since. He has discovered he has a dark side and it scares him.

Then he a meets Hannah and his world is turned upside down.

Neither Hannah or Stephen are looking for love. They don't want it and neither of them feel like they deserve it.

This is a beautiful story about 2 people who heal each other without realising it.

The story is absolutely brilliant. It is well thought out and drew me in right from the start.
My heart broke for what these 2 have been through. Unfortunately, one of them learns you can't always trust those you think are close to you, but ultimately this story is filled with hope and inspiration. When I think of Hannah I think of a phoenix rising from the ashes. She was broken and shattered but she survived.

If you are looking for a full novel with a juicy storyline that will hook you in and have you not wanting to put it down until the end, then I recommend this book to you!

Review by Kim

This is the second installment of the McKinney Brothers series.

Stephan McKinney is a self-made man. He's confident, smooth, has loads of money and lots of interest from the opposite sex being he's been named one of the Most Eligible Bachelors of the year.
But wealth and women and booze are not enough to fill the void that was left in his life when the woman that Stephan thought was his one and only was taken from him in a senseless act of violence.
The loss left Stephan empty and angry. So filled with rage that one day it exploded out of him and made him see what he'd turned into.
Stephan was afraid he'd turned into exactly what had stolen his life from him. Out of fear he stepped away from his family, his friends. Anyone who he could possibly hurt. Because with the amount of rage brewing inside him the chances that he could blow was incredible.
Hannah Walker is a survivor. She survived loosing her parents at an early age. She survived being raised by 4 older brothers. Hannah also survived violence: a violence that was so horrifying it scarred her soul.
It was only the discovery of the gentleness of horses and the physical work involved with being around animals that brought her back to life.
After going through her ordeal, Hannah is afraid of everything. And the fact that she has 4 over protective brothers doesn't help her to want to live again.
Then she has a really bad day and she meets Stephan.
He's big and a little scary, but that charming smile makes Hannah want things she's never wanted before.
For Stephan, Hannah is like bees and honey. He wants her and nothing is going to stop him from getting her. Except Hannah makes Stephan feel things that he hasn't for a long time.
Together Stephan and Hannah take a journey toward self growth, forgiveness and healing.
Worth the Risk is a fast ride that will make you sigh out loud in satisfaction as you turn the last page.
