About The Phoenix Candidate:

Fans of ScandalHouse of Cardsand The Good Wife will love Grace Colton… Congresswoman Grace Colton is the most famous woman in politics—and the loneliest—until a drawling, sexy stranger offers her one night, no strings and no regrets. Grace wakes to an empty hotel room and a phone call: the dark horse for the 2016 presidential election, Senator Shep Conover, is considering her as his vice presidential running mate. But first, Grace must be vetted and coached by Shep’s political consultant, Jared Rankin, who already knows too many intimate details about her. He’s Mr. One-Night Stand. Grace is torn: Play nice with Jared to join the senator’s ticket, or play hardball and back the slick frontrunner? Grace must decide where her loyalties lie and if she can trust Jared with her future—and her heart.

The Phoenix Candidate is an erotic romance set in the world of presidential election politics. Recommended for mature readers due to sharp dialogue, wickedly hot sex, and a few delicious taboos.
This full-length novel is first in a series and can be read as a standalone.

Review by: Tatia

When I say that I was torn on how to rate The Phoenix Candidate, I mean it seriously. There were parts that worked for me and some that didn't. I'm not a political person...AT ALL. So I found some parts to be a little too much, almost like I needed to do a google search to try to understand what was being talked about.

Congresswoman Grace Colton - she's a tough one. Having only been in congress a couple of years, she's still a newbie., but she's dead set on certain things. Having gone through a rough experience involving some members of her family being murdered when they were enjoying a family outing, she's heavy on the issue of gun control. She will not budge. But when an amazing opportunity arises, will she be easily swayed into changing her beliefs and all that she's rallied for? Or will she stay strong to herself and her voters?

Political consultant to a senator, Jared Rankin is one of the best in the industry. If you have one person on your team, it should be him. That's not all he is though. He's also controlling, a little rough around the edges, and slightly dominating in the best of ways.

These two together could be so great. Notice I said could be. Grace can't get out of her head long enough to admit what she really wants and Jared can't perform the simple act of kissing. If they could just open up to each other, things could be good and simple. They're electric in the bedroom...they've just got to work on everything else.

"Jared's not prince, and my life is anything but a fairytale."

I did really enjoy this story once I got in to it. Some of the political jargon that was used I didn't understand, but that didn't take away from the experience. I've read a few books that dealt with politicians, and I enjoyed getting a little more detail into that part of the story. While this book is part of a series, you aren't left hanging until the next book. The ending leaves you feeling satisfied while still anticipating the next part.
