Catch Me by Claire Contreras - FMR REVIEW

TITLE: Catch Me
AUTHOR: Claire Contreras
RELEASE DATE: November 17, 2013
SYNOPSIS:
In the past, I've always been given everything I've wanted, but nothing that I truly needed. I've experienced a lot of things in my twenty-five years, everything except the one thing I want. It's the one thing that can’t be bought. It can't even be taken, it has to be given. And nobody has ever given it to me, not really anyway.

Not until him.

Music is the center of both our lives, but as he found his place in it, I lost my way. He soared, while I spiraled down a destructive path.
I lost myself in more ways than I can count.

The ironic thing is that I didn’t realize how lost I was until he found me.

And now that he has, I have to wonder if he'll stay around long enough to catch me.

Well I love especially it when you get a clear message from a book and the message I got from this one is that no matter how much money you have or how rich other people perceive you to be, it does not make you happy. Depression is a highly debilitating disease and at the end of the day, money can't fix everything no matter how much you have.

Meet Brooklyn. She is the daughter of the owners of the biggest record label probably in the world. She has family and friends and yet, she feels like the loneliest woman in the world. Her father ignores her unless he wants something from her and his general answer to everything is to throw money at it until it goes away, including his daughter. Her mother is nasty. The only time she chooses to pay Brooklyn any attention is when she wants to criticize her and point out all her flaws. Brooklyn does however have an older brother she loves to pieces and a niece she adores. She also has a cousin that she loves and who loves her.

When Brooklyn meets Nick her world is turned upside down. Nick is a producer also known as Shadow.

He has a loving mother,  grandmother and brothers, but he has his own issues with his father. His father is also a producer and makes it clear that his son will never live up to his standards.
Brooklyn and Nick are so well matched and complement each other beautifully. But Brooklyn is insecure and has trouble let letting go of the past and Nick wants nothing more than for Brooklyn to let go of the past and move on with him and to only be his.
Things are going along well until things start to unravel. Brooklyn finds out Nick has kept something from her, and although it is not really a big deal and wasn't intentional on his part,  Brooklyn's insecurities come out and things go down hill from there.
These 2 need to fight their way back to each other and when they do, another tragedy strikes. They learn that together they can support each other and come out the other side of whatever life throws at them.

This is a story about 2 people  who learn that the past is the past and you can't let it define your future.

I loved this book and I absolutely adored Nick and Brooklyn. Claire Contreras has done a fabulous job with this book and I will happily read whatever she writes because I love what I have read so far!!
