Letting Go by Molly McAdams ~ BLOG TOUR & REVIEW

Synopsis:
The New York Times and USA Today bestselling New Adult author returns with a sizzling novel of love, loss, guilt, and forgiveness.
Grey and Ben fell in love at thirteen and believed they’d be together forever. But three days before their wedding, the twenty-year-old groom-to-be suddenly died from an unknown heart condition, destroying his would-be-bride’s world. If it hadn’t been for their best friend, Jagger, Grey never would have made it through those last two years to graduation. He’s the only one who understands her pain, the only one who knows what it’s like to force yourself to keep moving when your dreams are shattered. Jagger swears he’ll always be there for her, but no one has ever been able to hold on to him. He’s not the kind of guy to settle down.
It’s true that no one has ever been able to keep Jagger—because he’s only ever belonged to Grey. While everyone else worries over Grey’s fragility, he’s the only one who sees her strength. Yet as much as he wants Grey, he knows her heart will always be with Ben. Still they can’t deny the heat that is growing between them—a passion that soon becomes too hot to handle. But admitting their feelings for each other means they’ve got to face the past. Is being together what Ben would have wanted . . . or a betrayal of his memory that will eventually destroy them both?

This is a heartbreaking but beautiful story about finding the right moment to say goodbye to your past and move towards your future.

Grey and Ben are young and in love, they are due to be marries within days and then suddenly without warning the groom to be literally drops dead In the middle of the golf course...

2 years later, Grey is still struggling to get through her grief and wouldn't have survived as far as she has without her best friend Jagger... who was also Bens best friend.

Jagger is in love with Grey and has been for years. Everyone can see it but her. When she finds out it sets off a chain of events that she could never see coming.
She finds herself dealing with Jaggers evil no good mother, her over protective family and uncovering secrets that will change hers and Jaggers lives forever.
Jagger has the patience of a saint, he puts up with a lot from Grey, she is dealing with so much and he is constantly trying to make thing easier for her and is constantly pushing his needs aside. She pushes and pulls him and he never thinks about walking away. He loves her that much. No matter how hard it gets he never ever gives up on her. His love really is unconditional.
Grey at times comes across as very self Centred,  but as you read on you see that is not the case at all, she is just a very young woman trying to piece her world back together after it was shattered to pieces. She struggles every day, but gradually decides it it time to let go of what she never had and move on with her life with a man who loves her so much and will wait forever for her to be ready.

There are some really sad moments in this story, there are moments where you will wonder how a mother could do that to her son and there are some really funny moments that will have you laughing.
I enjoyed Grey and Jaggers story and If your looking for a quick read that covers a range of emotions with a strong storyline, I recommend this book to you! Well worth the read!!

Molly McAdams never disappoints. She gives us characters who are strong, who fight for what they want, and are fiercely loyal to those they care for. She writes stories that keep you interested from the very first page, that have you reading as fast as you can because you NEED to know what happens next.

Letting go of the past can be a difficult thing to do, especially a tragic one. Having the love of your life die just days before your wedding day can make it difficult to move on. That's what Grey LaRue is having to do. Thankfully, she has the best of best friends helping her.
Grey and Jagger have known each other since they were nine, have been best friends since they were thirteen. They've been through everything together. He's there to support her and be her backbone along the way. All along, he's held a secret that he never intends to tell.

Letting Go is the story of how two people help each other overcome grief, making each other stronger along the way. It's what real best friends do. No matter the circumstances, good or bad, they stick it out til the end. I loved the relationships that this book followed. How the bond between two or more people can be so strong to last a lifetime.

Letting Go by Molly McAdams is a raw and emotional story that deals with loss. Right from the start, I could feel the pain and hurt that the characters felt, specifically Grey and Jagger. I was able to connect with them through their grief over losing someone so important to them. Even though I wasn’t given the chance to really know Ben as a character, I could understand why the characters took it so hard when he died.

The writing was fluid and engaging. I’m no stranger to Molly McAdams’s works and it still amazes me as to how quickly she was able to make me feel for the characters and their lives. Underneath the romance, there is a deeper meaning to moving on as well as an unexpected mystery.

I think it’s pretty obvious how the story would turn out but I’m happy. I feel relieved that these two characters who have been through such pain are finally able to let go and move on with their lives. Not allowing guilt or grief to consume them because essentially, like the title, the story is about letting go. The way it was written was beautiful indeed.

Letting Go is Grey and Jagger’s story which I’m very glad to have had the experience of reading. I feel such joy and happiness. If you’re looking for a new adult novel with a deep meaning to it, then you wouldn’t be disappointed. It’s a touching story.

This was a 4 star read for sure. I really enjoyed Letting Go and my first Molly Mc Adams read. This book was an easy story from start to finish. As with many books, this one had its fair share of angst and heart break but the romantic undertones made it so enjoyable to fall in love with! I really found myself feeling and loving each and every character until the very last page.

The character selection in this book was superb! I loved how Molly was able to intertwine the past and present with all of the characters with so much feeling and emotion. Watching the characters all interact and develop was seamlessly done throughout the book as well. I felt all of the conflict and the resolution between relationships and characters very well and I never was left hanging or feeling empty. The book length was very appropriate and I felt that all of the story was well laid out, developed and closed up neatly.

The romance level was so great in this book!!! “I am always moving Grey. I am just waiting on you to move with me”….SWOOOOONNN all over Jagger!!! That man is seriously a gentleman through and through!! He is all kinds of sweet and patient and I just fell in love with him!! The way he cared for his sister and his best friend….dreamy!!!  OH and the plot twists and turns…CRAZY!!! Just when I thought I had it all figured out WHAM (and not the kick ass 80’s group!)  things changed!!! Really well done and well worth the read!!

I 100% recommend this book! This book was fantastic!!I loved this as my first introduction to Molly Mc Adams and I will totally be grabbing the rest of her books.

About the Author:
Molly McAdams grew up in California but now lives in the oh-so-amazing state of Texas with her husband and furry daughter. Her hobbies include hiking, snowboarding, traveling and long walks on the beach, which roughly translates to being a homebody with her hubby and dishing out movie quotes. When she's not at work, she can be found hiding out in her bedroom surrounded by her laptop, cell, Kindle and fighting over the TV remote. She has a weakness for crude-humored movies, fried pickles and loves curling up in a fluffy comforter during a thunderstorm...or under one in a bathtub if there are tornados. That way she can pretend they aren't really happening.
