Melancholy by Bella Jewel - FMR REVIEW

Title: MELANCHOLY
Author: Bella Jewel
Release Date: September 15, 2014

SYNOPSIS:

"There's never been a time I've cared about anything more than my club. Today that all changed. Today I got you."

To truly understand a story; you need to start from the beginning, but to start from the beginning; you have to go back, further than just you. After all, our stories don’t start with us, do they? Our stories start with the person before us, and the person before them. We are created from the stories of those people - from their mistakes, from their achievements, from their love and their hate.

No one’s story is ever truly their own.

I tried to create my own story, my own path, and my own actions. I’ve seen things people only see in their worst nightmares, but I never let it beat me down. I never let it become who I was. I picked myself up, and I kept going. Everything was what it was.

There was no point analyzing what it could be.

Could be’s didn’t matter.

Until Maddox came into the picture. He saved my life. He changed my world; giving me the second chance some of us only dream about. There was only one thing missing in my second chance, and she was the reason I fought so hard to survive.

My sister.

My sister who is supposed to be dead, well, at least, that’s what I thought.

That’s what he told me.

Now is where my story changes, but to understand this story, you have to start at the beginning…where it all began…and before.

Well I don’t know what is more appropriate.. Holy Hell or Holy Hotness??
Ok so this is book 2 In the Jokers Wrath MC series by Bella Jewel.. I though Precarious was fan-bloody-tastic, but I think Bella has outdone herself with Melancholy.. I quite literally could not put it down.
This is Maddox & Santana’s story.
Purely by accident years ago, Maddox stumbles across Santana drugged up, overdosed & literally about to die. Simple as that. Only it’s not. He is also very much in love with her, and she is love with him. After years of dancing around the mutual love they finally admit their feelings to each other.
But Maddox has a secret about Santana’s past, and when she finds out, all hell with break loose and neither of them know if their love is strong enough to survive.
Once they start they start to explore an intimate relationship its hot & sexy, but their feeling run deeper than that, they need each other to survive.
Jokers Wrath is a family of bikers & their women & those that dare to cross them will pay, eventually.
Men in an MC club are supposed to be the strongest of the strong, but when you are ambushed by the enemy, things change, blood is shed & people get hurt.  By the end of this book there is a lot of self blame floating around, a lot of hurt & still a lot of love. Because they are family. And family Is not always blood.   This story shows just how far this family will go for each other.
When Maddox’s secret about Santana’s past comes out, every member of the club steps up to help & some of them don’t survive, Maddox himself almost ends up dead. But they ultimately achieve what they set out to do & Maddox and Santana come out stronger as a couple. Santana learns she needs to stop being a brat, that she is no longer a child & that sometimes you have to fight to keep what you have. Maddox learns that it is ok to tell you woman ‘I love You’. The biggest lesson they both learn is about trust, they learn to trust each other without question because this is the only way their relationship can work.
The fear these bikers experience when they are ambushed will have you holding your breath & Gripping you book or your kindle, reading on to see  if  Mack’s quick thinking will keep him & Santana safe & if they are eventually able to save Maddox & most of the boys.
The ending is fabulous & has a twist that you will never see coming, but is the perfect lead into book 3!! There are a couple of funny moments that will make you giggle, there are some sad moments that may get you reaching for your tissues but there is also so much joy & love in the ending that you will probably feel emotional (I did!!) and have to reach for the tissues again!
Melancholy is so well written it felt like I was watching a movie play out in my head! I absolutely loved this book, Precarious was my 1st Bella Jewel book, Melancholy is my 2nd and I am now a huge Bella Jewel fan & I think its safe to say that if she writes it, I will read it!! Love, Love, Loved this one!!
