Review by: Tracy

Mackenzie Blanchard’s life was sucky, to say the least thanks to her parents.  She started a new school and started to have a positive outlook with life. MacKenzie made a friend the first day of school and sat behind the hottest guy in class.

Hayes Morgan doesn’t do relationships. He meets the new girl in school that makes him rethink his screw and leave ‘em attitude once he realized he wanted so much more than just the friendship he had with “Mac”.

What started out as a high school friendship turned into something both of them never thought would happen. Until life got really shitty for MacKenzie and she vanished.

Fast forward a year later with Hayes being a freshman in college. Their paths cross. Is the high school love they had for each other a year ago still there? Is it strong enough for them to overcome their pasts and reveal their secrets or will those secrets ruin the future they have both wanted with each other?

Although I found this book to be cute about your first high school love, I found it rather unrealistic and really hard to connect with the characters. I can’t go much further into detail as to what I found unrealistic about it, trying to keep this spoiler free. This one just wasn’t for me.
2.5 Stars
