Kylie Scott returns with the highly anticipated follow-up to international bestseller LICK.

Synopsis

Mal Ericson, drummer for the world famous rock band Stage Dive, needs to clean up his image fast - at least for a little while. Having a good girl on his arm should do the job just fine. But he didn't count on exactly how much fun he could have being with the one right girl.

Anne Rollins has money problems. Big ones. But being paid to play the pretend girlfriend to a demented drummer was never going to be a good idea. No matter how hot he is. She's had her sights set on her male bestie, Reece, for years. And now that she's supposedly taken, he's finally paying attention. If only the chemistry between her and her rock star would stop hitting new heights.

I honestly didn’t think it was possible that I could love Play by Kylie Scott more than I loved Lick. After all, I seriously loved everything about that book and enjoyed it immensely.  Seems it is possible and I absolutely hate to admit it but I have to say that Play is in a league of its own.  After reading Lick and getting a glimpse of Mal I knew that we would be in for a treat as it is centered on him and his crazy, hilarious, no-filter personality.  Play is everything that is great about Lick and then some.  It is extraordinarily funny, incredibly sexy, and tremendously addicting.

Rock star romances tend to go one of two ways.  Either said rock star meets and falls in love with someone who has either never heard their music or is vaguely familiar with them or the rock star isn’t exactly an established famous person at the time of meeting and we then follow them into stardom.  Seldom is it about an actual fan who has crushed on the band and especially this particular member for years.  Of course I’m not very interested in reading about a groupie who finally snags someone, anyone, who is famous.  But I really enjoyed the nice girl who gets to meet her favorite member of her favorite band and low and behold they hit it off.  Gives all of us nice, well meaning, fangirls hope.

This book is the ultimate pick me up.  No matter where you are or what you are doing it is hard not to periodically burst out in hysterical laughter at Mal’s antics and to keep from looking like a crazy person while constantly grinning like a fool at the immensely clever, witty, and hilarious writing.  Even when some heavy issues are addressed and experienced, it doesn’t take long for Mal’s mischievous teasing, his amusing one-liners, and his lighthearted and uplifting nature to make an appearance leaving you tearful one minute and giddy the next.  If you prefer not to be mistaken for an escaped mental patient, Play is not recommended for reading in public.

The more I read from Kylie Scott the more impressed I become.  Her writing is absolutely superb.  She knows exactly how to get your attention, draw you in, and keep you entertained and wanting more.  In Kylie Scott I feel like I have found my literary other half.  Play was the embodiment of everything I love in a great book.  Rock Stars? Yes.  Smart? Absolutely.  Funny? Without a doubt. Steamy? Check. Wonderful love story? Definitely.  There are no words to express how excited I am to read the next book in this series, Lead, all I know is that I need it like yesterday!

Lick - Book 1

Waking up in Vegas was never meant to be like this.

Evelyn Thomas's plans for celebrating her twenty-first birthday in Las Vegas were big. Huge. But she sure as hell never meant to wake up on the bathroom floor with a hangover to rival the black plague, a very attractive half-naked tattooed man, and a diamond on her finger large enough to scare King Kong. Now if she could just remember how it all happened.

One thing is for certain, being married to rock and roll's favourite son is sure to be a wild ride.
