Twisted by Emma Chase BLOG STOP & REVIEW

Title: Twisted (Tangled #2)
Author: Emma Chase
Release Date: Martch 25, 2014

Synopsis

Falling in love is easy. Staying in love is hard. In this heart-pounding follow-up to Tangled by New York Times bestseller Emma Chase, Kate reveals that there is trouble in paradise, when unexpected circumstances force her and Drew to "renegotiate" their relationship.

There are two kinds of people in the world. The ones who look first, and the ones who leap. I’ve always been more of a looker. Cautious. A planner. That changed after I met Drew Evans. He was so persistent. So sure of himself—and of me.

But not all love stories end happily ever after. Did you think Drew and I were going to ride off into the sunset? Join the club. Now I have to make a choice; the most important of my life. Drew already made hisin fact, he tried to decide for the both of us. But you know that’s just not my style. So I came back to Greenville, Ohio, alone. Well, sort of alone...

What I've come to realize is that old habits die hard, and sometimes you have to go back to where you began before you can move ahead.

"No matter how well you think you know somebody? How confident you are of their feelings, their reactions? They can still surprise you. And in the most devastating of ways." -Kate

Twisted brings you all that you loved from Tangled, the romance, the sexy and of course, the humor. Though I REALLY enjoyed Drew's POV in Tangled, I'm so glad we finally get Kate's POV. Through all of Drew's shenanigans, I always wondered what was going through her mind and couldn't wait to get inside her head. In Tangled, we saw them go through incredible highs and some lows before they were able to make their way back to each other. In Twisted, it's not all that different. If you thought it was gonna be all unicorns and rainbows from here on out, boy, you were wrong. After spending two wonderful, loving years together, trouble unexpectedly comes there way. Their once unbreakable relationship is at risk of becoming so damaged, it may not be reparable. They were able to overcome the first storm thrown their way, will they be able to make it through another this time around?

"…do-overs only exist in playground games. Real life doesn't have take backs." -Kate

I totally loved Kate in the first book because of her determination, her self confidence, and what a great friend she is. We get to see more of this side of Kate along with a side we never knew existed. A side that was so hidden beneath the steel facade she always presented and one that not even Drew has ever seen. As she finds her relationship with Drew on the rocks, Kate runs to her hometown. Here we get to know more about Kate's past and what made her who she is now. We get a glimpse of what it was like growing up with and without her father and get to experience her crazy fun teenage years as she recounts different memorable times in her life. With this visit home we also get to know more about her two oldest friends, Dee Dee and Billy.

"You know, sometimes I try and picture what my life would be like if Dee Dee wasn't in it. And then I stop. Because I just really can't imagine it." -Kate

I was happy that we got to know Dee Dee a bit more; she's definitely one of my favorites. She's so bad ass with her non existent filter and her crazy wardrobe, you just can't help but love her. Kate is a lucky girl to have someone like her as a best friend. And Billy. Dang, when we first meet Billy in the first book, I'm sure many readers felt the same. I totally didn't like him because of the way he treated Kate but after getting to know him better, I'm not ashamed to say I like the guy. Through Drew's eyes, Billy seems like this huge jerk who you just wanna punch in the face but when you see him through Kate's, it's totally different. He's so sweet and caring towards Kate, you just can't help but like him. He's also fun and has a way with words that lets just say, makes it really obvious that he's Dee Dee's cousin. With these two by her side, Kate not only was able to have a childhood filled with unforgettable memories but they also help her through the heartache she experiences in this book. "

…he once told me I wasn't the girl he fell in love with anymore. And as much as it hut to hear, as inadequate as it made me feel at the time-he was right. I'm not that girl anymore." -Kate

Though Drew and Kate experience some time apart, its evident that the feelings they have for each other isn't something that can easily fade out or be replaced. You can say these two both experienced a severe case of the flu ;-). In order to get back to the happy, blissful relationship they had, they must first work through their issues and remember why they were together in the first place and why they lasted this long. With the help of protective family members and loyal friends, there really is no doubt that no matter what may come there way either now or in a few years, they will always have a great group of people that will be there to catch them when they fall.

"How you react to life's twists and turns makes all the difference." -Drew Over all, Twisted is a novel that all fans of the Tangled series and those who love romance novels with lots of humor and fun characters will definitely enjoy. I enjoyed getting to see the progression of Drew and Kate's relationship. I would be lying though if I didn't say that these two totally frustrated me at times. Don't get me wrong I love these characters and I'm a fan of the series but there were times where they made me want to rip my hair out because of decisions they made. Despite this though, I think Emma Chase has delivered another great romance read that will leave you wanting another fix of these characters. I'm really looking forward to reading Dee Dee and Matthew's story. I can't wait to read Matthew's POV
